Time management, deciding what and how much to write, and handling questions when I didn’t know enough.
Learned structured answer writing, prioritization, and practical damage-control strategies for difficult questions.
Was able to complete the paper on time, write more focused answers with the right depth, include key scoring points, and better align with examiner expectations.
“Structured approach and time management are the keys to scoring well.”

Being an emergency physician, I was involved in managing acute cases and the initial 24 hours of critical care in the ER and ER-ICU. However, I had limited exposure to the course and long-term management of critically ill patients beyond this period. This gap created a strong curiosity in me to understand ICU care, systematic approach, and improve diagnostic skills, which ultimately motivated me to pursue training in Critical Care Medicine.
During my three years of training in Critical Care Medicine, I gained exposure to a wide variety of clinical cases, which helped me develop a systematic approach to patient management, improve time management, and effectively communicate with relatives of critically ill patients. From an academic perspective, the structured teaching program—including regular lectures and weekly case discussion that helped me clear the examinations on my first attempt.Overall, the training significantly boosted my confidence, and I felt competent to manage an ICU independently.
Over the three years of training, I observed significant improvement in my diagnostic abilities, clinical decision-making, and time management. I developed a systematic, guideline-based approach to patient care, along with better communication and counseling skills for managing patients and their families. My theoretical knowledge also improved which helped me make more accurate diagnoses. Overall, the training boosted my confidence in managing ICU independently.
“This institute offers excellent clinical exposure—focus on learning and stay consistent, and you will gain the confidence to clear your exams and manage patients effectively.”

My biggest challenge was the lack of a structured and exam-oriented preparation strategy despite having adequate clinical knowledge.
The training provided a clear roadmap, focused discussions, regular viva practice, and personalized guidance on how to approach the exam effectively.
I noticed marked improvement in conceptual clarity, answer presentation, viva confidence, and overall discipline in preparation.
“This training gives the right direction, confidence, and strategy needed to clear the exam.”

Biggest challenge was organizing things in written form.
I learnt about making a set pattern to writing answers.
Improvement was it to me lesser time and made the answers more elaborate without having to think about it.
I would say, Knowledge is not everything, you have to organize and make it presentable so as to pass the exam
Exam passed year 2026
My biggest challenge before coming to DMH was to perform lifesaving emergency procedures and limited exposure to ventilators, haemodynamics
The major change during my course was getting hands on experiences for procedures, improvement in decision making skills and formation of holistic plans along with good academic sessions
Improvements which I earned were gaining confidence, procedural skill development.

Being from Anesthesiology background It was difficult for me to handle complex medical ICU cases
Training provided structured exposure to multidisciplinary critical care, improved clinical reasoning, and a more evidence-based approach to management. Excellent procedural skills including, tracheostomies, ECMO- retrieval, transport, cannulations etc. We also had dedicated faculty guidance for writing theory questions and how to improve our writing skills along with weekly case discussions throughout our training
Better confidence in handling complex ICU cases, especially medical patients, along with improved decision-making and prioritization.
Consistency and understanding concepts matters a lot.

How to approach and tackle the huge syllabus that needs to be covered for DrNB Finals. Also finishing theory papers within 3hrs is also a big challenge.
Got a structured approach to learning with focus on high yield topics. Strategies to tackle both theory and practical helped me a lot to Crack the exam with good marks.
My approach to studying and writing for exams became more organized. Gained a lot of confidence after mock test(both theory and practical) which later helped me in the exam. Everything was very familiar in the final exam due to lots of mock test practices before, due to which I felt more confident and calm and it eventually helped me tackle the exam efficiently.
Right guidance can make the most treacherous path look easy and most difficult feat achievable.
